Sprouting is Easy 

Embarking on your sprouting journey is simpler than you might think. All you need to start sprouting at home are several sprouting jars and a grow light. And of course, the right seeds!

The sprouting process begins by soaking seeds in the sprouting jar with water, preferably filtered, for at least several hours, depending on the seeds. Usually, seeds come with sprouting instructions. After soaking, the seeds need to be rinsed and drained two to four times a day until they reach the desired size, which typically takes 3 to 5 days. 

Choosing the right organic seeds for sprouting is like selecting the right ingredients for a recipe. I buy mine from Mumm's Sprouting Seeds

But the journey doesn't end there. You need to continue the sprouting process by repeating the rinsing and draining two to three times per day for 3-5 days until the sprouts reach their total growth. After sprouts are fully grown and take up the whole jar, they should be washed several times. I do it in a large mixing bowl with a lot of water, which allows sprouts to be separated from the sunken hulls and un-sprouted seeds. Washed and drained sprouts can maintain freshness for at least one week when refrigerated.  

Crunchy Deliciousness  

Sprouts can be added to salads or used as a sandwich topping to maintain nutritional value and crunch.
